People are starting to ask AI assistants to find art for them. The big platforms keep their stock inside their own apps and take 40 to 50% of a sale. An artist selling from their own website is invisible to an assistant.

artworks.json changes that. It is one file on the artist's own site listing the work for sale: title, kind, size, price and the page to buy it. Any assistant or search tool can read it, and buyers go straight to the artist, with no commission.

How to publish one

Copy the example and fill in your own works (sold ones can stay with status sold).
Put it at https://yoursite.com/.well-known/artworks.json, or any https address.
Check it with /v1/feed_check?url=...
Email the address to artspotter@goodturnstudio.com to be added to Art Spotter's search.

Selling on Shopify already? Your shop is readable as it is; just email us the address.

Fields

format is always artworks/0.1. artist gives the name, the two-letter country and whether you take commissions. Each work needs a title, a kind (painting, print, printmaking, photography, drawing, watercolour, ceramics, sculpture, textile, illustration, digital or other), whether it is an original, a price and currency, the https page to buy it and an https image. Size, medium, year, edition, framing, where it ships and tags help people find it. Make a free artwork passport and add its id too. The full schema is at /artworks-schema-0.1.json.

Rules

Only your own work, at the price you charge. Assistants show works by fit and price, never by payment.
